An Ontario Provincial Police officer and another person sustained non-life-threatening injuries Sept. 24 following a two-vehicle collision at the junction of Highway 17 and Regional Road 55 in the town of Walden, said the OPP.

Preliminary investigation reveals a westbound vehicle on Regional Road 55 attempted to enter Highway 17 when it collided with an eastbound OPP cruiser. The officer has 27 years of service with the OPP.

The eastbound lanes of Highway 17 remain closed, east of Regional Road 55 as OPP members, including Technical Traffic Investigators, continue their investigation.
