A 27-year-old man allegedly robbed another person right in front of a plainclothes police officer on Sept. 25, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

The incident happened in the area of Notre Dame Avenue and King Street, where the suspect choked the victim from behind and demanded his wallet. The suspect fled on foot with the wallet.

The suspect is charged with robbery, overcoming resistance to commission of offence (choking) and resisting arrest.

He was held pending a court date on Sept. 26.
