Greater Sudbury Police Service is warning local businesses to be vigilant after two men entered two local motels Sept. 30 and tried to break into cash boxes.

Officers responded to a complaint at a Lorne Street motel where the suspects, wearing black hoodies, baseball caps and bandanas over their faces, allegedly tried to open the cash box.

A motel employee confronted the pair, and they ran outside, where they got into a small white car.

They also attempted the same thing at another local motel, but were again unsuccessful.

“The Greater Sudbury Police Service is urging all businesses to be vigilant this evening in particular, but also at all times, in ensuring that any suspicious behaviour is reported to the police,” said a news release.
