Man robs Pioneer Gas Bar in Hanmer

Greater Sudbury Police Service is hoping potential witnesses will help solve a robbery that happened Oct. 9 at the Pioneer Gas Bar on Regional Road 80 in Hanmer. A man entered the gas bar at about 8:13 p.m. brandishing a weapon.

Greater Sudbury Police Service is hoping potential witnesses will help solve a robbery that happened Oct. 9 at the Pioneer Gas Bar on Regional Road 80 in Hanmer.

A man entered the gas bar at about 8:13 p.m. brandishing a weapon. He demanded money from the clerk. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A canine track failed to locate the suspect.

He is described as five-foot-eight, dressed in dark-coloured clothing and of average build.

At the time of the robbery, closed-circuit television captured three motor vehicles leaving a restaurant located in the same parking lot in which the robbery occurred.

The occupants of the motor vehicles may have witnessed the suspect running off and are requested to contact the Greater Sudbury Police Services Break Enter and Robbery Unit.

Greater Sudbury Police is continuing the investigation and any information can be forwarded to the investigators or information can be provided on a confidential basis to Crime Stoppers.
