OPP officer charged in 2-vehicle crash

A provincial constable with eight years of experience with the Ontario Provincial Police has been charged with unsafely starting from a stopped position after he allegedly caused a two-vehicle crash Oct. 8.

A provincial constable with eight years of experience with the Ontario Provincial Police has been charged with unsafely starting from a stopped position after he allegedly caused a two-vehicle crash Oct. 8.

An investigation revealed that a fully marked OPP cruiser was parked on the westbound shoulder of Highway 17 in Beaucage Township. He pulled into the lane of traffic, colliding with a westbound Nissan Rogue.

The occupants of the Rogue were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
