He is scheduled for a bail hearing today on robbery charges.

Original story

Three men and one woman are facing charges following a home invasion Thursday involving what is believed to be a shotgun, say Greater Sudbury Police.

Staff Sgt. Marc Brunette said the victim was in his Myles Street home in the Flour Mill area when the four gained entry. Police received the call at 1:20 p.m., he said, and last person was taken into custody around 4 p.m.

“They were all found in the area where the home invasion took place,” Brunette said. “The last arrest took place on Leslie Street.”

While a firearm was used, he said it doesn't appear it was fired and the victim didn't require medical care. It's too early in the investigation to determine whether the suspects knew the victim, he said, how long they were inside the house or the motive for the home invasion itself.

“The interviews (with the suspects) are continuing,” he said. “But the homeowner was threatened with physical violence with the firearm.”

Police responded with patrol officers, who were first on the scene, followed by the tactical unit, which carried out the arrests, and then plainclothes officers from the Break, Enter and Robbery (BEAR) unit, which specializes in investigating these sorts of crimes.

“They will be taking over the investigation,” Brunette said.
