Armed man robs Regent Street sandwich shop

An armed man robbed the Subway sandwich shop late Tuesday night, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash. In a release, Greater Sudbury Police said the suspect entered the shop around 11:30 p.m. and demanded money from the employee.

An armed man robbed the Subway sandwich shop late Tuesday night, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

In a release, Greater Sudbury Police said the suspect entered the shop around 11:30 p.m. and demanded money from the employee.

“An undisclosed amount of money was provided to the perpetrator who then fled on foot,” the release said. “The male is described as approximately five feet, eight inches, tall to six feet tall, dressed in dark coloured clothing, and of average build.”

The police's BEAR Unit – which specializes in dealing with these types of crimes -- is continuing the investigation. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the investigators or information can be provided on a confidential basis to Crime Stoppers.
