Greater Sudbury Police are investigating complaints from several local salons, following the arrest of an Innisfil man for licking women's feet and stealing their shoes.

In a Nov. 28 news release, the police service advised that Mattieu Petrin, 28, had been arrested by York Regional Police in connection with a series of sexual assaults involving women's feet.

Detective Sergeant Jerry Willmott told NorthernLife.ca the criminal analysis staff at the GSPS looked for similar incidents in Greater Sudbury and found several. They are now interviewing witnesses.

"There were a couple of incidents," at local salons, Willmott said. "Female shoes were missing or taken."

The complaints are within the last few months, he added, a time when Petrin was living in Sudbury.

"He has ties to Sudbury and once resided here," Willmott said.
