Roadway re-opens: Spilled load closes Highway 17 (5 photos)

Workers have cleaned up a spilled load of round wood that closed a section of Highway 17 west of Lively early this morning. As of 10:45 a.m., the OPP reported the road way was re-opened to traffic.

Workers have cleaned up a spilled load of round wood that closed a section of Highway 17 west of Lively early this morning.

As of 10:45 a.m., the OPP reported the road way was re-opened to traffic.

Members of the Sudbury OPP are on the scene of a multi-vehicle collision that took place on Highway 17 west of the Highway 144 junction.

The collision occurred around 5 a.m. this morning A westbound trailor loaded with timber lost a portion of its load, which then spilled onto the roadway. Three vehicles struck the debris shortly after.

Two motorists were injured and taken to Health Sciences North with non-life threatening injuries.

The highway remains closed in order to clear debris. West bound traffic is being re-routed on Regional Road 55.
