Motorists on Highway 17 on Sunday should expect delays between 10-11 a.m. as family and friends of DJ Hancock relocate a roadside memorial from its current location to a spot near Countryside Arena, said the Ontario Provincial Police.

Hancock, 18, was killed by a drunk driver on Aug. 21 on Highway 17.

The OPP’s objective is to maintain the safe flow of traffic and, when delays occur, restore traffic flow in the safest manner possible, said a news release. The OPP is also working with those who have organized the event to provide a safe and peaceful opportunity to dissemble and move the memorial site, while minimizing the impact on the travelling public, where possible.
