Two men charged for stealing taxi cab

Greater Sudbury Police charged two men for stealing a taxi cab on Jan. 14. A cab driver gassed up his vehicle at the Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Barrydowne Road around 5: 22 p.m. When he went to pay for his gas, leaving the keys inside the vehicle.

Greater Sudbury Police charged two men for stealing a taxi cab on Jan. 14.

A cab driver gassed up his vehicle at the Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Barrydowne Road around 5: 22 p.m. When he went to pay for his gas, leaving the keys inside the vehicle.

The suspect stole the vehicle, but with help from the public, officers able to quickly locate the stolen vehicle within an hour.

The first suspect is charged with theft of motor vehicle, while the second suspect is charged with theft of motor vehicle, as well as other criminal code offences.

“The Greater Sudbury Police Service would like to remind members of the public to ensure that they secure their vehicles when unattended,” said a press release.
