On Saturday, Jan. 17 at about 9:15 p.m. police responded to a possible impaired driver in the area of Hwy 17 East.
A 2013 red Hyundai was located and the female driver was found under the influence.
The driver was taken into custody at the scene and escorted to police headquarters. Results of breath tests indicated that the driver was four times over the legal limit.
The driver was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Driving with more than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She will testify in court later this month.
