Police identify victim in Hwy. 144 crash

The person killed on Highway 144 on Jan. 25 has been identified as 33-year-old Steven Michael Jedrasik of Woodstock, Ont. He was driving one of two vehicles involved in a collision near Baynes Township around 1:35 p.m.

The person killed on Highway 144 on Jan. 25 has been identified as 33-year-old Steven Michael Jedrasik of Woodstock, Ont.

He was driving one of two vehicles involved in a collision near Baynes Township around 1:35 p.m.

The occupants of the other vehicle, a pickup truck, were both women, ages 43 and 66.

The OPP Technical Collision Investigator and Reconstructionist are assisting with the ongoing investigation to determine the cause of the collision.

One person is dead following a collision on Highway 144 on Jan. 25, said the Ontario Provincial Police.


A southbound passenger vehicle on Highway 144 crossed into the northbound lane, colliding with a northbound pickup truck, said police. The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 20-month-old passenger was taken to Health Sciences North with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with the ongoing investigation to determine the cause of the collision. No names will be released until family members have been notified.
