Three snowmobilers were caught on OFSC trails without trail permits during Snowmobile Safety Week which took place Jan. 17–25, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.
Shortly after 8 p.m. on Feb. 16, Greater Sudbury Police say a man crashed his snow machine into a utility pole on Dennie Street in Hanmer.

Witnesses called police, who arrived to watch as the man who allegedly crashed the sled was being driven away in a vehicle by a friend.

Police followed and pulled that motor vehicle over, only to discover the person the allegedly drunk sledder had called was also drunk.

Needless to say, both drivers were arrested for impaired driving. The acquaintance who picked up his friend at the scene of the snow machine crash was also arrested for obstructing police.

They will both appear in court at a later date to answer to their criminal charges.
