Quiet St. Patrick's Day for Sudbury police

Greater Sudbury police kept a close eye on downtown Sudbury on St. Patrick's Day, making one arrest at the liquor store and helping an injured man. In a release, police said the patrol began early and did not end until 3 a.m.

Greater Sudbury police kept a close eye on downtown Sudbury on St. Patrick's Day, making one arrest at the liquor store and helping an injured man.

In a release, police said the patrol began early and did not end until 3 a.m.

“During this time, the uniform patrol arrested an intoxicated male shoplifting alcohol from the liquor store downtown,” the release said. “He was charged criminally for theft and breaching court orders. He is being held for a bail hearing.”

They also came to the aid of a man at a downtown bar who had received a minor injury.

“He was treated on scene by EMS,” the release said. “Numerous bars were checked and there were no issues or concerns.”
