Crime Stoppers and the Greater Sudbury Police Service are offering a guaranteed minimum $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for a garage fire on Coulson St. in Capreol.

At about 4:15 a.m. on Mar. 20 2015, patrol officers from the Greater Sudbury Police Service came upon the garage fire, just as 911 calls were being received for Greater Sudbury Fire Services.

Due to the close proximity of the garage from the residence, the occupants of the home vacated the dwelling as a safety precaution. There was a potential for more extensive damages and definitely risks to the lives of the residents.

Evidence obtained at the scene indicates that the cause of the fire is suspicious in nature. The garage, which was used primarily as a storage shed, had few contents.

Damage is estimated at $8,000.

Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers is convinced someone has information on the identity of the suspect(s); therefore, a guaranteed minimum $1,000 reward is being offered for tips received before midnight on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 if the information leads to an arrest (reward money will be divided if many successful tips are received).

For tips received after the deadline, the standard process for determining reward amounts will apply.
