A 51-year-old man was charged with blowing over 80 and having care and control after he was found intoxicated while sitting in his vehicle in the Centennial Arena parking lot in Hanmer March 28.

At around 1:45 p.m., Greater Sudbury Police were conducting community patrols near the arena. An officer observed the man's vehicle in the parking lot, parked far away from where all the other cars were parked.

The officer approached the man, and engaged in a conversation with him, which led her to believe he was impaired by alcohol.

He failed a roadside screening test, and was taken to headquarters, where he was charged. Police said March 28 they'd release the man pending a court appearance once he was sober.
