Police seize $40K in illegal drugs, three face charges

Three people face fraud-related charges after allegedly printing fake cheques, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.
On March 28, members of the Break, Enter and Robbery Unit of the Greater Sudbury Police Service acted on information received that a man from the Sudbury area was in possession of a quantity of illicit drugs.

At about 5 p.m. Saturday, a traffic stop was conducted in the parking lot of a restaurant on Notre Dame Avenue in Sudbury. Three people were in the vehicle at the time.

The three men are all from the Greater Sudbury area. They were arrested and taken into custody. A search of the three accused and the vehicles resulted in the seizure of Hydromorphs and OxyContin, having a street value of $40,180, and $4,280 in Canadian currency.

Each face charges of three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. One of the men is also charged with breach of probation.

Bail court was scheduled for March 30. Officers with the tactical unit and the uniform division also assisted in this investigation.
