Greater Sudbury Police have a suspect in custody following a serious assault Wednesday morning in the city.
The attack took place on Fir Lane in Sudbury and was reported to police around 11 a.m. The victim and the suspect know one another, police said in a news release.
“The victim is in serious but stable condition at Health Sciences North,” the release said.
“Although police resources are on scene, including uniform officers and the forensic identification unit, we wish to stress that there is no further concern for public safety in that area.”
Police are asking for the public's help in their investigation of the assault, which would have occurred inside the victim's home sometime between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
