A 25-year-old Chelmsford man recklessly discharged his firearm by blasting a hole in his basement door with a shotgun, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.
Officers responded to a call on April 7 at about 2 a.m. at a home on Vermillion Lake Road. A family dispute boiled over, and the suspect went home in an “intoxicated and emotional state,” said a news release.
He got a shotgun, loaded it, and then fired a single shot through a door in the basement. No one was injured.
The man is charged with careless storage of a firearm, recklessly discharging a firearm, and obstructing a police officer. He was held pending a bail hearing.
