Sudbury woman charged with stabbing spouse

Greater Sudbury Police have charged a New Sudbury woman after responding to a stabbing incident Monday around 8 p.m.

“Once at the scene, it was determined that a 50-year-old female had stabbed her 61-year-old spouse in the shoulder area causing a two-inch cut,” police said in a news release.

“The female was taken into custody and the victim was taken to hospital.”

The man received five stitches and suffered a small defensive wound on his hand. The woman is facing charges of assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous and threatening death.
She will be appearing in bail court in this morning.
