Two people were injured in a fire that occurred in a home on Barry Street last night.

Three fire stations, five vehicles and 17 firefighters battled the fire, which caused about $75,000 to the Barry Street home. Greater Sudbry Fire Services were called to the home at about 10 p.m. on April 26.

Smoke and fire damage to the two-storey home were moderate, GSFS reported.

The fire displaced three people.

One person suffered minor burns to their hands trying to put the fire out, while another was taken to Health Sciences North for observation for smoke inhalation. Both are expected to be released from hospital today, GSFS said this morning.

The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical, and the fire service reminds people not to leave electrical appliances unattended.
