RIDE check nabs driver three times over the limit

One driver was charged with impaired driving and over 80 after being found to be more than three times over the legal limit during RIDE checks May 8.

One driver was charged with impaired driving and over 80 after being found to be more than three times over the legal limit during RIDE checks May 8.

Besides these charges, Greater Sudbury Police issued one three-day driver's licence suspension, one 90-day driver's licence suspension and 15 Highway Traffic Act tickets. Police also made eight approved screening device demands.

Two hundred eighteen drivers were stopped during RIDE checks on Municipal Road 84 at Linden Drive, Kalmo Road and the entertainment district in downtown Sudbury.
