Two men face drug charges after being caught in a RIDE checkpoint May 16, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Officers were conducting a RIDE check on Municipal Road 84, near Capreol Lake Road, in Capreol.

Around 11:30 p.m., a Ford pick-up truck with two men inside was one of the many vehicles stopped for investigation. As police had conversation with the driver through the open window, they noted an extremely strong odour of cannabis marijuana.

As a result of further investigation and questioning, both men were arrested. Police found 101 grams of suspected marijuana, and two grams of suspected cocaine on one of the accused.

Both men are charged with possession of a controlled substance, in addition to possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Both men will be in court later this month to answer to the charges.
