Espanola cop charged with sexual assault

An OPP officer in Espanola faces multiple charges for indecent assault, gross indecency and sexual assault for incidents alleged to involve multiple males in the 1980s.

The Special Investigations Unit, which is charged to investigate criminal offences involving police officers in Ontario, charged Const. David Scott with two counts of indecent assault, four counts of gross indecency, and three counts of sexual assault.

The investigation determined the alleged incidents against four males occurred between 1981 and 1987.

Scott previously served with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at 426 Queen Street East in Sault Ste. Marie on July 6, 2015.
