The Greater Sudbury Police Service will see a brief interruption to its phone service this Sunday at 4 a.m. for about three hours.

The service said in a news release that Bell Canada will be performing a routine upgrade to the Greater Sudbury Police Service`s telephone lines.

The ability of the Communications Center`s personnel to respond to 9-1-1 emergency calls for service will not be interrupted, although their ability to answer calls for general information to 705-675-9171 will be limited.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is requesting that members of the public refrain from calling for general information during this time.

As well, GSPS also advises that the main doors to the lobby police headquarters, 190 Brady St., will not be accessible May 30, and possibly May 31, due to construction work.

Instead, an alternate entrance off of the Tom Davies concourse will be available. Security officers will be on hand to direct anyone that attends for police business.
