Police track down hit and run suspect

A 31-year-old man is facing several charges after a June 14 hit-and-run collision on Highway 17, in the Township of Nairn. The OPP responded to the collision at around 12:39 a.m.

A 31-year-old man is facing several charges after a June 14 hit-and-run collision on Highway 17, in the Township of Nairn.

The OPP responded to the collision at around 12:39 a.m. An investigation revealed that an eastbound pickup truck had collided with another eastbound passenger car.

Police were able to locate the involved pickup truck in Sudbury, at the intersection of Big Nickel Mine Road and Elm Street. They determined the driver had consumed alcohol.

The suspect was charged with driving while impaired, over 80 and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

He's due to appear in court July 15.
