A 25-year-old Brampton man was charged with careless driving after a single-vehicle roll-over on Highway 637 July 6.

The collision, involving a van, occurred at around 1:30 p.m. The driver was heading westbound down the highway — which leads from Highway 69 to the small village of Killarney — when he became momentarily distracted due to fatigue.

The vehicle hit the shoulder, rolled over, and came to rest on its wheels. The vehicle's lone occupant was not injured. Alcohol, road and environmental conditions were not a factor, said a press release from the OPP.

“The OPP would like to remind drivers to take several planned breaks during long trips,” the press release said. “Operating a vehicle is a very complex task, and the consequences of any type of distraction can have serious consequences.”
