Sudbury Police check nearly 300 drivers at R.I.D.E. stop

Greater Sudbury Police conducted a R.I.D.E. check stop on July 25, and laid four Highway Traffic Act related charges and two in relation to the Criminal Code.

Greater Sudbury Police conducted a R.I.D.E. check stop on July 25, and laid four Highway Traffic Act related charges and two in relation to the Criminal Code.

The check stops were set up at Frood Road at Burton Street as well as Howey Drive at Downing Street.

During the course of the check stop GSPS pulled over 287 vehicles and issued a pair of 90-day license suspensions.

Additionally, the GSPS issued one charge for blood alcohol content over .80 and one charge for refusal to provide a breath sample.

Police made nine demands for breath samples and conducted two field sobriety tests.
