Drivers and walkers on Barrydowne Road witnessed Greater Sudbury Police in action this morning.

Staff Sgt Craig Maki told NorthernLife.ca that police had received a tip about a weapons complaint, as well as a description of the alleged suspect.

A man matching the description was located walking along Barrydowne Road at about 9:30 a.m. today. Police moved in to make the arrest in the parking lot of Mr. Prime Rib, but when they searched the man, the reported weapon was not located.

During the arrest, a witness told NorthernLife.ca the man didn't resist and repeatedly told police he had nothing to hide and was just on his way to a barbecue.

However, the man was arrested on an unrelated charge. He was processed and released this morning.
