Girl seriously injured after being struck by pick-up truck

Updated: 4:10 p.m. The Greater Sudbury Police Service is currently investigating a motor vehicle collision in which a seven-year-old girl was struck by a pickup truck at the intersection of Brady Street and Minto Street, Sudbury.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is currently investigating a motor vehicle collision in which a seven-year-old girl was struck by a pickup truck at the intersection of Brady Street and Minto Street, Sudbury.

 

The young girl is currently at Health Sciences North where she is being treated for serious injuries that have been categorized as non-life threatening.

 

The GSPS Traffic Management Unit is currently on scene and investigating this collision.

 

It is expected that east bound Brady Street between Minto Street and Shaughnessy Street will be closed for approximately three hours.

 

Drivers are asked to avoid this area and take alternate routes while our accident investigation is ongoing.

 

GSPS Traffic Management Unit will provide further updates regarding this motor vehicle collision.

Greater Sudbury police closed off the east-bound lane of Brady Street, in front of the police station, after a pedestrian was struck by a pick-up truck Monday afternoon.

Police have not yet said whether or not the pedestrian was injured, but an ambulance was at the scene of the collision.

Police said the investigation is in the preliminary stage and a further update will be released this evening.

Brady Street is closed from Minto to Paris Street.
