Greater Sudbury Police say there were two incidents of people being attacked by bear spray Thursday about an hour apart.

However, they say the attacks were not related. In the first incident, a group of people were attacked around 1:15 a.m. at Rhythm 'N Cues, “during a disturbance involving numerous people.

“An adult male, approximately 25 years old, used the bear spray on a crowd of people and a warrant was requested for (charges of) assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous,” police said in a news release.

“A second 26-year-old adult male involved in the disturbance has been charged with assault, breach of probation and various drug offences.”

The second attack took place at 2:22 a.m. In that incident, a adult male called from a residence on Tedman Street, police said, reporting that “someone had just smashed his window and pepper sprayed him and his son.”

A 19-year-old man who is known to the victims is suspected in the incident, the release said. Police are looking to charge him with assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000 and five counts of breaching probation.
