Nobody injured in Walford Rd. duplex fire

Nobody was injured in a fire at a duplex on Walford Road that occurred shortly before 6 p.m. Sept. 30.

Six people were evacuated and displaced as a result of the blaze, which caused severe smoke and fire damage, according to a press release from Greater Sudbury Fire Services. The fire caused about $200,000 in damage, and affected two residential units.

Seventeen firefighters from three fire stations responded to the fire.

Walford Road was closed between Paris and Regent for a few hours last night due to the fire, but has since reopened.
