Stunt driving charges for Toronto man

On Nov. 2, 2015 at approximately 9:30 p.m. a northbound motor vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed and as a result was stopped for stunt driving.

On Nov. 2, 2015 at approximately 9:30 p.m. a northbound motor vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed and as a result was stopped for stunt driving.

A member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol on Highway 69 in the Township of the Archipelago when he observed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

As a result of the stop, the driver, a 67-year-old man from Toronto has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

His driver’s licence has been suspended for seven days and the vehicle he was operating has been impounded for seven days. 

The driver was served a summons requiring him to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on Dec. 1, 2015 to answer to the charge.
