Teenager charged with stunt driving on Highway 69

A 17-year-old from French River is facing stunt driving charges after police say they clocked him going well over the speed limit on Highway 69 on Nov. 12.

A 17-year-old from French River is facing stunt driving charges after police say they clocked him going well over the speed limit on Highway 69 on Nov. 12.

The teen blew by a parked cruiser on stationary patrol at more than 50 km/h over the limit at around 9:30 p.m. that evening.

The officer hit the lights and pulled the vehicle over. The 17-year-old driver from French River was charged. His licence has been suspended for seven days and the vehicle he was operating was also seized and impounded for seven days. 

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on Dec. 14.
