This Greater Sudbury Police Service has been selected as one of the winners of The Learning Partnership’s Outstanding Employer Awards for the Take Our Kids to Work Day program.

On Nov. 4, twelve Grade 9 students from six high schools across the city participated in the Greater Sudbury Police Service’s second annual Take Our Kids to Work Day.

These students were exposed to all aspects of the policing profession by participating in a number of planned activities.

Members throughout the Service were able to share with students what they do in their jobs, allowing students to learn more about the different opportunities in the Service.

Students were also joined by Chief Paul Pedersen for a pizza lunch.

The Learning Partnership is a national charitable organization dedicated to support, promote and advance publicly funded education in Canada.

In 2011, they launched the Canada’s Outstanding Employer Awards as an extension of their flagship program, Take Our Kids to Work.

The Canada’s Outstanding Employer Award recognizes employers for their outstanding performance and contribution to Take Our Kids to Work Day activities.
