Greater Sudbury Police are warning the public about black ice lurking just below the surface of the snow on area roads.

“Area roads appear to be snow covered, but there is actually black ice underneath causing slippery conditions on different roads,” police said in a press release issued at 10:30 p.m. last night.

“This condition will more than likely deteriorate as the temperature drops during the evening and into the morning. Please slow down and give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination.”
