OPP issue multiple driving charges Jan. 30 to Feb. 3

OPP officers issued multiple charges against drivers in the Sudbury area licence between Jan. 30 and Feb. 3 for driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended licence and failing to complete a commercial vehicle inspection.

OPP officers issued multiple charges against drivers in the Sudbury area licence between Jan. 30 and Feb. 3 for driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended licence and failing to complete a commercial vehicle inspection.

On Jan. 30 OPP officers found a 36-year-old male driver from Chelmsford violated several traffic-related offences while driving a dump truck with an attached snow plow on Highway 144.

The driver was charged with fail to complete annual inspection certificate or report commercial vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act; no name on commercial vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act; drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act; and operating a commercial motor vehicle without the valid registration.

That same day a 45-year-old female driver, also from Chelmsford, was charged for driving while under suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

And on Feb. 3 police charged a 55-year-old male driver from Estaire for driving while exceeding the legal alcohol limit.

Police stopped the man on Estaire Road, and also charged him with fail to surrender licence, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act; fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act; and fail to have insurance card, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
