Sudbury's High Impact Thrills (HIT) Action team is launching a five-part demo series in showcasing extreme martial arts and acrobatic skills. The first demonstration will take place on Saturday, July 18 at 1 p.m. outside the Impact Martial Arts Academy Studio at 251 Regent St.

Through the demonstrations, the HIT team is hoping to gain some exposure for their upcoming performance in the second annual Arts of Ones Self event in November, a press release stated.

The Arts of Ones Self event is set out to be the largest of its kind in northern Ontario, with more thanĀ  250 people of all ages showing their support by attending last year. This year's goal is to attract over 500 people, as well as to inspire young and old to set out into the martial arts journey of a strong and healthy lifestyle, the release stated.

The event will showcase traditional and acrobatic martial arts skills, weapons, musical forms, board and concrete breaking, choreographed martial arts stunts scenes and more.

Funds raised from the Arts of Ones Self will be donated to the Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer (NOFCC), a charity that helps northern families cope with the experience of childhood cancer.

The HIT team includes Steve Gagne, founder, Cole Crossen-Bell, Connor Ross and Payton Paterson. Upcoming demonstrations in the series will be released closer to the dates.
