Laurentian athletics will be webcasting its home basketball games live on the Streaming Sports Network (SSN) Canada, starting Nov. 13, when the Brock Badgers are in Sudbury for Laurentian's home opener. The Lady Vees will take the court at 6 p.m., followed by the Voyageurs at 8 p.m.

The webcasting will allow for anyone, anywhere to enjoy Lady Vees' and Voyageurs' games when they take to the court at home. SSN Canada is the official webcaster of CIS national championships and have created partnerships with the CIS, as well as many OUA schools. All games can be found at www.ssncanada.ca.

“Webcasting is the way that CIS sports are moving and we want to get a jump on that,” said Peter Hellstrom, Laurentian's athletic director. “This is a great opportunity for us to expand our reach and it will allow parents who can't always make the trip north to watch their kids on a regular basis. We are very excited to get going.”

The Laurentian athletic department has had the support of the Instructional Media Centre in getting everything up and running, according to a press release. A top-of-the line encoder will be used, as well as a high-end camera to give viewers the best possible experience. The sports administration program at Laurentian will also be a resource Laurentian athletics will tap into to provide the most complete coverage possible.
