Sudbury Wolves bring back a blast from the past

The Sudbury Wolves, in partnership with BMI Custom Apparel and Promotional Products, will be wearing retro jerseys during Friday night's game against the Brampton Battalion.

Fans will have the opportunity to bid on the jerseys during the game.

The Wolves will be bring back a blast from the past as they sport the colour green during their match-up against the Battalion, a colour they haven't worn since 1987.

BMI owner Fabio Belli said they wanted to make it a special night and thought about bring something back from the past. That's when the idea of the new retro jersey came into play.

Fans will be able to bid on the jerseys throughout the game, and the highest bids will have their jerseys signed by that player and given to them at the end of the game. Retro t-shirts will also be available for $5 along with plenty of give-aways throughout the night.

"It's been a great partnership with BMI, the official supplier of the Sudbury Wolves," said Wolves' head coach and general manager Mike Foligno.

"It's a great opportunity for fans to get a beautiful different jersey. For the guys that actually wear these jerseys, it's going to be worn with a lot of pride and we just hope that these jerseys with a little bit of green in them, bring us a lot of luck the next game that we do wear them." Foligno said chuckling.

"It's a beautiful jersey, I like the looks of it and I think it's very modern in today's game...It looks fast!" Foligno laughed.

Proceeds from the sale of the jerseys will be donated to the Sudbury Wolves Scholarship fund. Game time against the Battalion is 7:30 p.m.
