Sudbury's NHL legends tee off

The 13th annual NHL Legend of the Game Charity Golf Classic, hosted by the Human League Association of Sudbury, hits the course at Timberwolf Golf Club on July 22.

Registrations for teams of four is $800, and includes 18 holes, a cart, lunch, dinner and an opportunity to meet local NHL legends.

In the past, the tournament has hosted NHLers such as Jim Dorey, Murray Wilson, Bob Nevin, Soupy Campbell, Brian Glennie, Ron Wicks, Bill Friday, Ross Brewitt, Cliff Thorburn, Mike Foligno and Troy Crowder, among others.

Proceeds from this event will help support programs for children offered by the Human League. In the upcoming year, the Human League will feed more than 4,200 hungry children a nutritious morning meal in area schools.

The Human League will also sponsor about 400 underprivileged children to participate in recreational activities of their choice through the PLAY Program (Positive Leisure Activities for Youth), CTC JumpStart, and KIDSPORT ONTARIO-Sudbury Chapter.
