"It's really important that you have complete faith in your training, that you have confidence in the program you are on,” Ehrhardt said earlier this week.
At the time of the announcement of the signing of her commitment letter to Oklahoma, Ehrhardt said the relationship she felt could be developed with coach Fischer was the “single most important factor” leading her to become a Sooner.
In making the move to Western, Ehrhardt will train with fellow World Junior jumper Taylor Stewart, who is now entering his second year with the Mustangs’ program. He is coming off a Bronze medal performance in the Long Jump at the World Junior Track and Field Championships in Moncton, N.B.
Ehrhardt will compete both at the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) level, but is also expected to attend international meets on behalf of Athletics Canada.
Ehrhardt is currently the top ranked junior female triple jumper in the country, and on the senior women's level is second only to Olympian Tabia Charles.
