Laurentian University's track will play host to the Athletics Ontario junior and senior level track and field championships this Saturday and Sunday.

Athletes in the 18-19 years junior range and over 19 years senior range will take part in the event. The event is mandatory for athletes who want to apply for provincial carding, also known as Quest for Gold.

Track North Athletes Caroline Ehrhardt and Ross Proudfoot will be competing on Sunday at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. respectively.

"The meet may be less well-attended than usual because it's late in the season," Dick Moss, Track North coach, said. "But there are still 325 of the best track and field athletes in the province attending, including the top-end athletes who are vying for Quest for Gold funding. So the quality will definitely be there."

Saturday events begin at 9:30 a.m., with the last event starting at 2:30 p.m. On Sunday, events also begin at 9:30 a.m., but the last event runs at 1:30 p.m.
