It may not have been the toughest pre-season test, but provided some building blocks to a solid season for Kal Tire Junior Wolves new head coach Bryan Verreault.

Receiving goals from six different players, the Junior Wolves chalked up a 6-0 whitewash over the Manitoulin Islanders Sept. 1, with goaltenders Scott Anderson and Chris Kaye sharing the shutout.

Zach McGillis, Ryan Sidun, Joel Gagnon, Justin Lariviere, Alex Serafini and Derek Jansen scored once each for Sudbury, who will complete this home and home exhibition series with a visit to Little Current on Saturday night (Sept.4).

Regular season play begins Sept. 8, as the Junior Wolves welcome the defending league champion Abitibi Eskimos to the McCelland Arena in Copper Cliff. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
