A dominating performance by the Valley East Minor Baseball Association (VEMBA) Mosquitoes was capped off Monday in Brampton, as the local lads captured the Select Ontario Baseball Association (SOBA) provincial championship.

Overpowering their opponents with both pitching and hitting, Valley East ran roughshod over Southwest London (11-1), Georgetown (10-0), Clarington (11-0) and North York (15-0) before besting North York once again (double knockout) 6-2 in the gold medal encounter.

The 2010 edition of the Valley East team included Mason Blinn, Bradley Chenier, Jonathan Grylls, Jacob Lamontagne, Keagan McAnulty, Bryson McLoughlin,
Matthieu Ménard, Ryan O’bonsawin, Patrick Parkinson, Alex Rodrigues,
Parker Savard and Isaac Walt.

The team was coached by Jamie Lamontagne, Mike McAculty, Derek McLoughlin and Brian Savard, with Rhonda Lascelle handling the managerial duties.
