An unseasonably warm late August evening provided the ideal setting as the Sudbury Women’s Soccer League staged all three of its championship games Tuesday evening at the Delki Dozzi Sports Complex.

Youth was served in the A final as Integrated Benefit Services put their collective team speed to good use, slipping past the more experienced Sudbury Police Association 2-1. Erin Beange and Stefanie Scarfone scored for the winners, while Melissa Simon replied in a losing cause, with all three goals scored in the opening half.

Same score in the B final as Talos Steel received goals from Chantelle Thomas and Miranda Basso, edging the Sudbury Kicks 2-1. Liane Michael managed the only goal for the Kicks, who had defeated Talos 3-1 just one week ago when the teams met in their final playoff encounters.

A little more scoring in the C championship affair as Josee Prevost and Andrea Kulyski netted two goals apiece, leading Milestone past the Italia Flyers 4-2. Katie Bannistess and Meghan Leonard found the back of the net for the Flyers, who were deadlocked at two early in the second half before Milestone pulled away in the game’s latter stages.
