Laurentian University's Carling Zeeman is currently in Orlando, Florida, attending a Rowing Canada development camp. Zeeman has been identified as one of Canada’s elite prospects through Rowing Canada’s talent identification program and was one of 26 athletes selected to attend the camp.

While in Florida, Zeeman, a second-year human kinetics student, will have the opportunity to work with Canada’s national team coaches and will look to leave her mark on the Rowing Canada scene. The purpose of the camp is to expose the selected athletes to the national scene, in hopes they will try out for and ultimately represent Canada on the international stage.

"This is an excellent opportunity for Carling to work with national team coaches and to row with other identified athletes,” Laurentian rowing head coach Amanda Schweinbenz said. “She is an exceptional athlete and has the potential to go far in the sport of rowing. The knowledge and experience she gains through participation at this camp will only help to improve her as an oarswoman and a team leader here at Laurentian."

Zeeman is already seeing success on the young Laurentian team, placing fifth at the 2010 Ontario University Rowing Championships in the single sculls and finishing ninth at the 2010 Canadian Championships in the same event.
