The Sudbury Wolves have announced that 17-year-old defenceman Frank Schumacher has returned home for "personal reasons."

"Frank advised us this week that he wanted to head home and intends on remaining at home for the balance of the season," Wolves' general manager Blaine Smith said in a press release. "It is unfortunate because Frank was playing very well for us."

Schumacher was acquired in a trade with Saginaw back in December that saw the Wolves acquire Michael Sgarbossa, Alex Racino and Schumacher in exchange for John Mcfarland and Ben Chiarot.

To replace Schumacher, the Wolves called up 17-year-old defencemen Brandon Scott from the Kal Tire Jr. Wolves for the team's game against the London Knights Friday. Kal Tire Jr. Wolves' forward Andre Comtois, 17, and Kyle Shaw, 17, joined the Wolves for their games against Kitchener and Sarnia.

Tyler Prong, 16, also made his debut as a Sudbury Wolf on the weekend. The 6-2, 180-pound rearguard of the Moorestown Jr. team is having a terrific season and is among the league leaders in defence scoring, the press release stated.
