The Sudbury Wolves have signed 18-year-old goaltender Taylor Dupuis, who was drafted by the Wolves in the 2010 OHL draft in the 10th round, 186th overall.

Dupuis, 6-0 and 180 pounds, played for the Stratford Cullitons of the GOJHL this past season and helped lead the team to a second-place finish in their division. The Cullitons won their first two rounds of the playoffs before losing-out in the Division Finals to the Brantford Golden Eagles in six games.

The New Liskeard native recorded an outstanding 20-2 win-loss record during the regular season and finished in seventh place in the league in goals against (2.66) and save percentage (.910).

During the playoffs, Dupuis played in five games and had a record of three wins and one loss and recorded an impressive goals against average of 2.54 and a save percentage of .938. His save percentage was the second best in the league.

“Taylor is a young goaltender that has continued to show improvement over the past two years,” Wolves’ GM Blaine Smith said. “He has earned an OHL contract based on his play this past season in Stratford and his performance at our training camps in Sudbury.

“With Taylor’s commitment to Sudbury, we now have significant depth at the goaltending position.”

“I am thrilled to be in Sudbury and be a part of the Wolves’ organization,” Dupuis, who is fluently bilingual, said. “I look forward to the challenge of earning a spot on the Wolves’ roster to begin the 2012-13 season. I am very excited and very confident at the same time. I can hardly wait for next season to begin.”

Dupuis will be working with Wolves’ goaltending coach Scott Murray this summer at the RHP Hockey Training Facility in Sudbury in preparation for the upcoming season.
